In order to give a general historical background to the period of the Puritans, we will next read Benjamin Brook's 1813 edition of "Lives of the Puritans". This a three volume set and thus will take us a good amount of time to complete, but we hope you will find the investment of time rewarded with a better understanding of the Puritans and the time in which they lived. Brook was a non-conformist minister who lived from 1776-1848.
